This week’s
review
is a most
eloquent
hedonism:
A masterly
display
of knowledge
in and around
a popular topic.
It provides evidence
of many years of
obsessive,
deliberate
consumption.
Furthermore,
the condescension
is most
delicious.
However…
it remains
vastly inferior
to the work reviewed,
for the mere fact
that the object
of scrutiny
transformed its maker.
This piece
served only
as a reinforcement
of preconceptions
and assumptions,
and convinced
weak-willed
readers
that one
individual’s
tastes
should
override
their own
direct
experience
of a work.
